MONO NO AWARE makes its debut at Billboard Live Tokyo. A four-piece band formed by Tamaki Shukei (from Hachijōjima, Tokyo) and Kato Seijun, who met at university, together with Ayako Takeda and Yutaka Yanagisawa, they craft a sound rooted in pop that hints at a wide range of backgrounds, and with lyrics rich in wordplay they create free, genre-defying music. In 2016 they released their first single 「イワンコッチャナイ／ダダ」, and that summer they performed on FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL’s rookie stage ＜ROOKIE A GO-GO＞. Their debut album 『人生、山おり谷おり』, released in 2017, received high praise from many quarters. In addition to having produced four albums to date, this May they drew attention with a cover of the national children’s song 「 Oyoge! Taiyaki-kun」。 Their latest Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka tour sold out all performances, and their first Billboard Live show will feature a special lineup that can only be seen here.
