Japan’s pioneering vocal group The Gospellers — a solo concert by Yoichi Kitayama, a member of the group — is set to be held at Billboard Live. The Gospellers were formed in Waseda University’s a cappella circle and made their major debut in 1994. They have released many representative songs, including “Forever,” “Alone,” “Stardust City,” and “Mimosa.” This solo appearance at Billboard Live marks his first time at Billboard Live in Tokyo and Yokohama, following ten years since his Osaka performance in 2014.

Joining him on stage is Toshitaka Shibata (pf), who serves as the bandleader for Kitayama’s solo projects and has collaborated with numerous jazz artists; he is active in session live performances, hall tours, and recording projects.
