The music unit Black Cat Alliance, formed by Kenji Ueda and Kyoko Koizumi, will appear at Billboard Live for the second consecutive year. In 2021, when Koizumi started Spotify Original Podcast “Honto no Koizumi-san,” she invited Ueda, saying that if they couldn’t play existing songs, they should create originals. The unit name comes from the fact that both of them began keeping rescued black cats around the same time. The theme of their songs is “the world seen through the eyes of two black cats,” and in September 2021 they released their debut album, ‘Un chat noir.’ In January 2023 they held their first audience-attended live performance at Billboard Live, to great success. Together with their familiar supporting musicians, enjoy a playful, sophisticated, top-tier adult pop that feels like a one-night concert staged by the black cats in their hideout.
