Kiefer
Overview
An essential figure in the LA scene that connects jazz and beat music, pianist/producer Kiefer takes the stage with his latest album. He began studying piano from a young age, and in UCLA's prestigious Jazz Studies program laid a solid foundation as a jazz pianist. At the same time, from his early teens he started beat-making, and inspired by J Dilla's music he immersed himself in beat production. He established a sound that fused jazz piano with LA’s distinctive beat culture, breaking into the music scene. In 2017 he released his debut album, “Kickinit Alone,” and the following year he signed with Stones Throw, one of LA’s representative independent labels, 〈Stones Throw〉. Not only with his own works, but as a producer he has also shown remarkable activity, including producing tracks for Anderson .Paak’s 2020 Grammy-winning album “Ventura,” and collaborating with Drake and Kaytranada. With his new album “It's Ok, B U,” released in September 2023, this Japan tour presents Kiefer, who has become an indispensable figure in discussing contemporary jazz/beat music. Don’t miss his latest stage.
