Tower of Power, the Bay Area’s iconic pioneers of funk and soul who have toured non-stop since their 1968 formation, will return to Billboard Live for the first time in about five years.

Formed in Oakland, California around Emilio Castillo and Stephen “Doc” Kupka, they swept the era in the 1970s with hits like “So Very Hard to Go” and “You’re Still a Young Man,” as well as by contributing to works by Aerosmith, Elton John, and Little Feat.

In recent years, they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018 and released the album Soul Side of Town, featuring new material for the first time in 15 years. Since then, the band has continued to thrill audiences around the world, marking a brilliant 55-year career with a world tour and the holiday EP It’s Christmas.

The future of Tower of Power remains vigorous and dynamic, and they will deliver a performance that proves it to fans worldwide who crave the band’s groove.
