Azumi Takahashi, the singer-songwriter who drew consumers’ attention with the in-game music from Persona 3 Reload, will make her first appearance at Billboard Live. Born in Norikura Kogen, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, she is also active as a Norikura Kogen Tourism Ambassador. Nurtured by the region’s rich natural surroundings, she captivates listeners with her astonishing vocal power and has previously worked as a backing vocalist for DREAMS COME TRUE, YUKI, AI, and others. A street-performance stint in the United States led to her becoming the Amateur Night 2019 champion at the Apollo Theater, a milestone achievement for a Japanese singer. Furthermore, in 2024, the track “It’s Going Down Now,” credited to Lotus Juice / Azumi Takahashi, topped Billboard Japan’s overseas-listened Japanese songs chart “Global Japan Songs Excl. The last time I held a solo full-band show in Tokyo was three years ago, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. I never would have imagined that my next show would be at Billboard Live Tokyo—it's beyond what I could have expected. When I was a student at a music vocational school, or just after graduation, I would long to meet, listen to, and admire artists from overseas, and I would dip into my meager savings to go there, sparkling with anticipation. I feel honored to stand on that stage as Azumi Takahashi, and I will deliver it with gratitude and from the heart! I’m looking forward to seeing you all!
