Billboard Live presents Piano Duo Session #8 Yo Hitoto × Satoshi Takebe
Overview
Yo Hitoto, a singer whose outstanding vocal ability has won popularity across generations, and composer-arranger and music producer Satoshi Takebe will present a special session stage.
Yo Hitoto debuted in 2002 with "Moraikaki." The following year, for that song, she won the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist and the Japan Cable Awards' Best New Artist, and made her first appearance on NHK’s Kōhaku Uta Gassen. Since then, while releasing many classics such as "Hanamizuki," she has broadened her activities beyond singing—acting, publishing books including the poetry collection Yo Hitoto Poetry Collection: Everyone Seems to Be Having Fun, and providing lyrics for other artists, among other pursuits.
Satoshi Takebe, who will share the stage with her, is a keyboardist and arranger who has worked with numerous artists and has served as the music director for Yumi Matsutoya’s concert tours since 1983. He has produced Yo Hitoto, Miki Imai, Ken Hirai, JUJU, and others, and has also handled the music for Studio Ghibli’s From Up on Poppy Hill. More recently, he has broadened his activities, handling the music for the film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK and serving as music director for [Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 2023 “GIFT”], among other projects. Don’t miss this close-up, unique, breath‑and‑rhythm‑in‑tused session stage that only the two of them can deliver.
