ZION, a five-piece band from Hokkaido aiming to ignite world-class rock across the globe, has confirmed Billboard Live performances. In 2020, they were formed around Ryuuya Mitsumura (vocals/guitar) and his friend Keisuke Kushino (guitar). From September of the same year, they have been based at the “White House” studio in Tokachi, Hokkaido, a renovated old farmhouse done through DIY. In 2022, while selling out every venue on their nationwide tour, they released their debut album SUN’n’JOY in December, and to have it recognized as a new Tokachi specialty, sold it exclusively at local Michi-no-Eki roadside stations, earning support for their unconstrained, inventive style. In May 2024 they toured special venues—churches, planetariums, and glass pyramids—on the 【Another Mountainphonic】 tour, delivering performances that center on acoustic resonance while applying arrangements that go beyond those bounds to all tracks, tremendously widening the band’s possibilities; all shows sold out. Then in February 2025 they released their long-awaited second album Countryman and are currently touring nationwide with the record, but the Billboard Live tour in Tokyo and Osaka in May will present a stage that sets them apart from those.
