Hiroko Taniyama Billboard Live
Taniyama Hiroko
Overview
With a crystal-clear voice and a fantastical worldview, singer-songwriter Hiroko Taniyama captivates audiences as she takes the Billboard Live stage in early summer. Since her debut in 1972, she has been active in a wide range of fields—from NHK’s Minna no Uta and Okaasan to Issho, to commercial songs, radio hosting, and writing fairy tales and essays. In addition to providing the insert song “Teru no Uta” for the film Tales from Earthsea, and contributing songs used in the film Kokuriko-zaka Kara (From Up on Poppy Hill), she has written songs for Yuki Saito, Aoi Tejima, Kaori Mochida (Every Little Thing), and provided music for voice actors Aki Toyosaki, Asami Imai, and Sumire Uesaka. She is also a prolific writer. In 2025, she will release a self-cover collection for the first time in 17 years, titled “Phoenix de Hikigatari: The First Self-Cover Song Collection 2.” Furthermore, her participation on Kaonashi Hasegawa’s (CreepHyp) solo album has been a topic of attention. After more than 50 years since her debut, please savor Hiroko Taniyama’s present work to your heart’s content.
