The eternal guitar hero Mitsuyoshi Azuma leads Japan’s premier Jump-Jive band on the Billboard Live Tour this year as well! In the autumn of 1979, while still a student at a certain university, Azuma formed the band as a “graduation present”; it was supposed to disband upon graduation, but the fun was so great that they re-formed nine months later. Since then, they have continued a laid-back, steady activity through the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras up to the present. The January 2026 LINE CUBE SHIBUYA show, which closed out their 45th anniversary year, sold out instantly, and they continue to garner immense support that seems to say they are currently at their peak. Thereafter, they have toured all over the country in various lineups, and their energetic activity remains vibrant even as they approach their seventies.
