KOBUDO—KOBUDO—continues to create a cross-genre sound world while valuing Japan’s tradition and sensibility. Three artists active in distinct fields—pure Japanese traditional music (Shakuhachi: Dozan Fujiwara), classical (Cello: Furukawa Nobuo), and pop (Takeshi Senoo)—formed the group in 2007. They have worked on TV programs such as NEWS23 and Wafu Sohonke, as well as on stage and in commercial music, and are highly regarded not only for their performance ability but also as composers. In 2017 they reached their 10th anniversary and began a new chapter as Kobudo’s Second Chapter; to commemorate the release of their new album HORIZON, they make their first appearance on a Yokohama stage.
