「The Great American Songbook」
Risa Ono Billboard Live
Lisa Ono
Overview
Lisa Ono, who has established herself as a pioneer of Japan’s bossa nova, will appear at Billboard Live this fall. In 1989 she released her debut album Catupiri, and her 1999 album Dream sold over 200,000 copies. She has won the Japan Gold Disc Award in the Jazz Category four times. She has also built close ties with the gods of Bossa Nova, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and with João Gilberto, who passed away last year, and has continued to perform worldwide. This time, leading a five-member band, with the theme “The Great American Songbook,” she will present a special stage where carefully selected American classics are heard in Lisa Ono’s unique jazz arrangements. Please enjoy her musical world, which soothes the club’s atmosphere with her natural voice and guitar sound.
