The eternal guitar hero, Koyo Azuma, leads Japan’s only Jump Jive band, taking the stage at Billboard Live! In autumn 1979, while a fifth-year student at a certain university, Koyo Azuma formed the group as a “graduation commemorative” project. It was supposed to disband as soon as he graduated, but the fun was so great that they re-formed nine months later. They then breezed through the Showa and Heisei eras at a relaxed pace, entering Reiwa in 2019. To celebrate their 40th anniversary, they released their eighth album. And this year, on November 3, they will release a 7-inch vinyl, continuing their energetic activity even after turning sixty. You can’t help but dance to their incredibly upbeat sound.
