At the 66th Japan Record Award, Koresawa, winner of the Lyricist Award and whose Nippon Budokan concert sold out, Ai Higuchi, renowned for such works as the ED for “Attack on Titan” and with strong overseas popularity, and Non, who will release her 3rd album “Renarrate” on September 3; Kei Higuchi, the guitarist for these three acts and the one handling their arrangements. To realize the wish of close friends who want to perform together, Kei Higuchi has taken the initiative and will host a one-night-only special live. It has been decided that Tokyo Girls’ Style will join as the final guest. Kei Higuchi has previously played guitar for Tokyo Girls’ Style, but this is likely to be their last collaboration before disbanding. Vocalists will join the host band led by Kei Higuchi to create a special collaboration—look forward to a premium stage.

I’m pleased to announce my first self-produced project, “Play Like Kids♡ with Kei Higuchi, Koresawa, Tokyo Girls’ Style, Non, Ai Higuchi”!

In January this year, I spoke with editor and music journalist Yuka Yajima, who suggested trying Billboard Live. With the cooperation of Billboard Live staff, we were able to make it happen. Thank you very much!

I started this project because the important friends I’ve met through work (some from the moment we were born) have such wonderful personalities. I love them and wanted to introduce them to everyone. Beyond what you see at work, I wanted to show that they’re such wonderful people too. They’re kind, carefree, love music, love performing, and seem to have kept a childlike spirit even as they’ve grown up. I really like that.

The members who will perform with me are (Drums: Takato Nagashima; Bass: Shoko Nakamura; Key: Manami Kitamura). I hope Play Like Kids becomes a day when we play like children, exhaust ourselves, and go to bed early.

Non-chan, for me, is a friend with whom I’m sharing the same youth in the present. We’ve written songs together, played guitar, and performed live… and we’ve often said to each other, “Isn’t this song great? Aren’t we geniuses?!” It’s a person who has helped realize my dreams in my musical life.

Kore-chan is consistent in her loves: cute things, pink, cute things, pink… Ha. The less someone’s loves change, the more you can trust them. I think Kore-chan hasn’t changed at all since childhood, and won’t change in the future either. She’s also a crucial person who helped me grow as a guitarist.

Ai-chan has been with me since birth and is truly, truly important. I think I accumulated a lot of virtue in my past life. Thank you to Ai-chan’s mother, father, grandfather, and grandmother for making me Ai-chan’s sister!!!

Tokyo Girls’ Style—I deeply respect everyone who has kept pursuing what they love with a childlike spirit. The people I looked up to when I was still a student are still active now, helping to connect our youth. It’s an honor to be able to perform together once more.

With such beloved friends joining as vocalists, Kei Higuchi Band will be completed!

Play Like Kids♡ with Kei Higuchi, Koresawa, Tokyo Girls’ Style, Non, Ai Higuchi — Statement:

The “that time” when we played without worrying about tomorrow, utterly absorbed in play.
The “that time” when we laughed uproariously at topics that didn’t serve any purpose.

We’re busy with work and private life, but when we gather with this group, no matter how old we are or where we are, we can return to the “us” from those days.
