Big Star, the legendary band that laid the foundation for power pop and greatly influenced later alternative rock, is celebrated by The Big Star Quintet, who carry that music into the present. Centered on original member Jody Stephens, the group brings together five people with deep ties to Big Star: Mike Mills of R.E.M., Jon Auer of The Posies, Pat Sansone of Wilco, and Chris Stamey of The dB's. All members take on vocals and freely swap instruments as they perform a host of classics, including '#1 Record' and 'Radio City'. Don’t miss this rare live performance by top players as they deliver a timeless, gem-like sound.
