Forever the guitar hero, Azuma Kōryō, leads Japan’s premier Jumpin’ Jive band as they launch their annual Billboard Live Tour! In fall 1979, while studying at a certain university, Azuma Kōryō formed the band as a “graduation memorial” gift; right after graduating they were supposed to disband, but the fun was so great that they reformed nine months later. Since then they’ve continued their laid-back activity through the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras, and now reach the 45th anniversary milestone. In 2024 they released their ninth album, “Sustainable Banquet,” their first in about five and a half years, proving that their energy remains vigorous even after turning sixty. With an average age of about 69 and a 12-piece lineup delivering the most upbeat, feel-good sound, Yokohama will feature Leyona as a special guest!
