The eternal guitar hero, Azuma Mitsuyoshi, leads Japan’s only Jump Jive band, making a comeback to Billboard Live Osaka.

In the autumn of 1979, while attending a certain university, Azuma Mitsuyoshi formed the band as a “graduation souvenir.” It was supposed to dissolve as soon as he graduated, but the fun was so irresistible that they re-formed nine months later.

They then carried on leisurely through the Showa and Heisei eras into the Reiwa era, and in 2019, to mark their 40th anniversary, they released their eighth album. Last November they also issued a 7-inch analogue record, and even after turning sixty they remain energetically active.

With a total of 12 members, they deliver a high-spirited, feel-good sound—please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
