Gretchen Parlato Quartet
Overview
Gretchen Parlato, who captivates audiences with her beautiful whispery voice and scat and has long reigned as an icon of the contemporary jazz scene, makes her Billboard Live debut. Born into a musical family in Los Angeles, she won the vocal category of the Jazz Competition in 2004, a proving ground for new talents, and debuted the following year. She co-created the album The Lost and Found with Robert Glasper, widely regarded as a landmark of modern New York jazz, and the live album Live in NYC was nominated for the 57th Grammy Awards, reflecting her global influence. In 2021, she drew renewed attention by singing the insert song “All The Same” for the TV drama 大豆田とわ子と三人の元夫, and now takes the stage in a quartet lineup. Look forward to her rare sense of rhythm, a voice that blends into the instruments, and a refined, enveloping sound to enjoy to your heart’s content.
