Maki Nomiya, who will be celebrating her 45th anniversary since debut in 2026, will hold a Billboard Live Tour in a “women-only band” she has always wanted to try at least once.

The band will be led by bassist Yumiko Ohno (Buffalo Daughter), with Yuka Yoshimura on drums, Risa Takeda on keyboards, and Hiizu Tabuchi (ex-NUMBER GIRL) on guitar.

And as a guest, Kyoko Koizumi, whom Nomiya really wanted to have participate in this show. The two debuted in the 1980s on the same record label, and later created music under the production of Yasuharu Konishi and Masayuki Kawakatsu.

The other guest is YOU, who answered Nomiya’s invitation. She is currently active as an actress and talent, but in 1988 she joined FAIRCHILD as a vocalist. At that time, Nomiya and YOU, who were both members of Portable Rock, were active in the same technopop field and had interactions such as live collaborations.

The tour title “Onna wa Onna de Aru” (A Woman Is a Woman) is the title of a Jean-Luc Godard film, but the image of a woman who lives freely and unfettered by anything, as played by Anna Karina—the heroine of the film Nomiya admires—has become a shared motif for Nomiya, Koizumi, YOU, and this band.
