Led by percussionist Carlos Sugano, a figure representative of Japan’s Latin music scene, top-notch musicians have come together to form the Latin jazz big band Tropical Jazz Orchestra, which has kept audiences of all ages dancing no matter where they are—and it returns this year! Last year marked a milestone—the band’s 30th anniversary—while longtime supporters Ken Morimura (Pf) and Getao Takahashi (Ba) retired. Welcoming new members Kei Hatakeyama (Pf) and Yuji Ashijima (Ba), the tour in Yokohama and Osaka will serve as the unveiling of the new lineup.
