With a unique and cutting-edge sound where a wide range of musical styles intersect, the experimental soul band WONK, highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad, takes the stage at Billboard Live Osaka. Each member is a rare figure who operates as a player, producer, and engineer across the fields of soul, jazz, hip-hop, and rock, and the sonic image they create as a collective has consistently stayed one step ahead of the times. Since the release of their 1st album in 2016, WONK has crossed scenes through domestic and international festival appearances, overseas tours, and cross-genre, cross-border collaborations, evolving without pause. For guitar, the accomplished Sho Ogawa, trusted by a wide range of domestic and international artists, will join in, adding new color to WONK’s sound with delicate yet bold playing. For saxophone, MELRAW—known for their cross-genre expressiveness rooted in jazz—will appear and demonstrate the on-stage chemistry with WONK.
