The eternal guitar hero, Azuma Kōryō, leads Japan’s premier Jump-Jive band as they kick off their signature Billboard Live Tour! In the autumn of 1979, while a student at a certain university, Azuma Kōryō formed the group as a “graduation gift.” Just as graduation approached, they were supposed to disband, but the fun was so infectious they reformed after nine months. They’ve since carried on at a relaxed pace through the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras, and now reach the 45th anniversary milestone. In 2024 they released their ninth album, “Sustainable Banquet,” their first in about five and a half years, proving that even after turning sixty, their energy remains undiminished.
