Jazz singer Akiko, who will celebrate her 25th anniversary since debut this June, will welcome bari-saxophonist Atsushi Yanaka of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra for an anniversary concert. Debuting as Verve's first Japanese female singer, she has since released self-cover singles for 12 consecutive months as a countdown toward the anniversary. On April 18, she will release three 7-inch titles, and on June 21, the date of her debut, a new album compiling self-cover songs will be released, continuing to explore new expressions. In recent years, the close collaboration between the two has generated a great deal of buzz, but this performance will depart in concept from previous stages, focusing on “Akiko’s 25th Anniversary.” In addition to Yanaka participating on Akiko's songs, the program will also feature repertoires that have gained popularity from their recent collaborations, as well as jazz and Brazilian repertoires that showcase a fresh charm different from Yanaka's Ska Paradise Orchestra work. Furthermore, the Tokyo show will welcome guest Yu Hayami, making a one-day-only special stage a reality. Together with a diverse lineup of artists, it promises to be an unmissable night as they celebrate the 25th anniversary.
