Lightning Seeds
Lightning Seeds
Overview
The Lightning Seeds, the British band led by producer/songwriter Ian Broudie, a defining figure since post-punk, make their first visit to Japan. After the dissolution of “Big in Japan,” which he formed in his hometown Liverpool with Bill Drummond (The KLF) and Holly Johnson (Frankie Goes to Hollywood), Broudie produced Echo & the Bunnymen, The Fall, Pale Fountains, and, into the 21st century, The Coral and The Zutons. The Lightning Seeds were formed in 1989. Their 1996 fourth album, the classic Dizzy Heights, peaked at No. 11 on the UK Albums Chart. Also, in the same year, their single “Three Lions,” written as the England national football team’s theme song, topped the UK Singles Chart and continues to chart as a revival hit from time to time. From post-punk through Britpop to the present, the talents who helped shape British rock since the 1980s bring a treasure trove of timeless songs, performed together with their own band—don’t miss this rare stage.
