Kotaro Oshio, the acclaimed acoustic guitarist who continues to make his mark, takes the stage. He made his major-label debut in 2002, and shortly afterward also debuted in the United States. He even appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival for three consecutive years. Moreover, he has broadened his activities across Asia, earning high praise not only in Japan but worldwide. While live performance remains at the core, he has continued to widen his range by composing music for films and for commercials. His guitar playing, which employs techniques such as open tuning and tapping, expresses a supple tone and a powerful performance, boasting timeless appeal. In February 2019, he released his 15th original album, Encounter. He continues to sharpen that musicality. Please enjoy, to your heart’s content, a richly expansive sound world that you wouldn’t expect from a single guitar.
