Overview
Lisa Ono, who has established herself as a steadfast pioneer of Japanese bossa nova, will appear at Billboard Live this fall. In 1989 she released her debut album “Katopiri,” and her 1999 album “Dream” sold over 200,000 copies. She has also won the Japan Gold Disc Award in the Jazz category four times. She has cultivated close ties with the godfather of bossa nova, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and with João Gilberto, who passed away last year, continuing to perform worldwide. This time, leading a five-member band, under the theme of “The Great American Songbook,” it will be a special stage where you can hear carefully curated American classics in Lisa Ono’s distinctive jazz arrangements. Please enjoy her musical world, where her natural voice and guitar-driven sound will soothe the club’s atmosphere.
