Ryota Komatsu, Japan’s renowned bandoneon virtuoso who earns high praise even in tango’s homeland of Argentina, returns with a milestone year: the 25th anniversary of his debut. Since his CD debut in 1998, he has given landmark tango performances at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Buenos Aires, Argentina, and this year marks the 25th anniversary of his debut.

Known for unveiling the charm of the bandoneon from multiple angles at each concert, this time he appears with the 25th-anniversary debut album “Corazón de Anison,” a collection of beloved anime songs arranged with敬意 (in reverent homage).

The program will present a lineup centered on 70s–80s anime tunes—such as “The Rose Is Beautiful as It Falls” (from The Rose of Versailles) and “Theme from Lupin III”—reimagined in Argentine tango arrangements. It’s a show that people of all ages can enjoy. Look forward to a repertoire of well-loved songs performed in the passionate, exotic timbres of tango.
