Bernard Pardy
Overview
Hailed as “the drummer who has participated in the most recording sessions on Earth,” Bernard Purdie’s Billboard Live Tour—his first in nearly nine years—has added dates after Tokyo performances sold out!
Born and raised in Maryland, USA, he began his career as a session drummer in New York in his twenties. He broke through by participating in James Brown’s “Ain’t That a Groove” and by joining King Curtis’s band, the Kingpins. From 1970, he served as Aretha Franklin’s bandleader, and since then has left his mark on countless artists’ works across genres, including Steely Dan and Miles Davis. A true groove master who has helped shape music history and continues to influence generations to come, be sure to experience his astonishing virtuosity up close.
