SKYE is a special band formed in the dawn of Japan’s rock era by the legendary Shigeru Suzuki (g), Rei Obara (b), and Rikio Hayashi (ds), joined by Masataka Matsutoya (key), who has long led Japan’s rock and pop scene. They re-emerged in 2019, released their first album in 2021, and in 2022 successfully completed their first solo tour. They spent almost a year crafting the eagerly awaited second album, and this concert will be its release-tour, with many new songs performed. As supporting musicians, a horn section featuring Hikari Ichihara (tp), Kaori Kobayashi (sax), and Itsumi Komano (tb) has been confirmed. Furthermore, in July the long-awaited second original album will be released, heightening expectations for the track selection.
