Fronting Japan’s fusion scene, Tetsuo Sakurai, Akira Jimbo, and Minoru Mukaiya form the Katsushika Trio, appearing in an organic trio live centered on the acoustic piano. Their breakout debut as a mega-new band came after they performed as guests at Akira Jimbo’s One-Man Orchestra at Katsushika Symphony Hills. Last year they released their debut album M.R.I_ミライ, which, true to its theme of “adult music that isn’t grown up,” spectacularly topped the iTunes Store Jazz Chart, and the momentum has only grown. In September 2024 they released their latest album, “Uchū no Abarenbō” (tentative), and using their superb skills that smoothly trace even the most thrilling passages along with an original sound, they toured nationwide on the tour “Uchū no Abarenbō (tentative).”
