Orquesta de la Luz, Japan’s world-renowned salsa band, will ignite Billboard Live with scorching Latin beats! Their debut album De La Luz, released in 1990, topped the U.S. Latin charts for 11 consecutive weeks, and since then they have continued to thrive worldwide, including receiving the UN Peace Prize, earning a Grammy nomination, and touring in 23 countries. For the 40th-anniversary album released last year, this year saw contributions from leading figures in the Latin music scene—Tony Skar, Naoto Inti Raymi, Maki Ohguro, and Toma Rose—reaching No. 1 on the iTunes Store’s Latin charts in Panama, Russia, Kenya, and Japan. This year marks their 35th anniversary since debut, with a best-of album release and overseas tours planned.
