Overview
Patrice Rushen, a musician and composer who has won numerous prestigious music awards, has announced plans to launch a Billboard Live Tour with a seasoned backing band. Raised with a foundation in classical music, she fused jazz, pop, and R&B into a distinctive sound that yielded hits from the 1970s through the 1980s. In particular, her signature song "Forget Me Nots" has been frequently covered by other artists and sampled. She has been nominated for the Grammy Awards four times, and while composing music for many films and television programs, she has served as the first female music director for many of the entertainment industry’s top awards. Furthermore, she has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in the United States, and is devoted to mentoring the next generation of musicians. Loved by renowned musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, and Prince, and having performed with them, her powerful live performances are not to be missed.
