Overview
Bobby Rush, a three-time Grammy Award winner and a living legend in the blues who has continued to captivate audiences around the world, returns to Billboard Live for the first time in about 14 years, his career still shining with new brilliance at age 91. In a project helmed by Academy Award–nominated director Ryan Coogler, and appearing in the buzzed-about film Sinners starring Michael B. Jordan, plus the release of his latest collaboration album Young Fashioned Ways with multi-platinum artist Kenny Wayne Shepherd, a U.S. and Europe tour, his first Grand Ole Opry appearance alongside Shepherd, and a performance on the prestigious music program Austin City Limits, Bobby Rush is clearly entering a new chapter in his career. In addition to winning the Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album three times, he has achieved 16 Blues Music Awards (56 nominations overall). He is inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, the Mississippi Music Hall of Fame, and the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame, among numerous other honors.
