Masaki Ueda has continued to pursue a sound rooted in Rhythm & Blues and Soul Music since his 1972 debut. He has released numerous classics including "Kanashii iro ya ne" ("It's a Sad Color") and "Wagamama" ("Selfishness"), captivating many fans beyond borders, particularly in Asia. Even today, while performing on numerous stages each year, he remains active in producing new works, and in 2020 he drew attention by contributing the song "Never Give Up" to Kiyoshi Hikawa (included on the album "Papillon"). This time as well, together with longtime ally Junji Arayama from the era of "Masaki Ueda and South to South," he will appear on the Billboard Live stage as the "Masaki Ueda R&B Band."
