The eternal guitar hero, Koyo Azuma, leads Japan’s only Jumpin’ Jive band, and they are coming to Billboard Live. In the autumn of 1979, while a student at a certain university, Azuma formed the band as a “graduation present.” It was supposed to disband as soon as he graduated, but the fun was so infectious that they re-formed nine months later. They then breezed through the Showa to Heisei eras and into Reiwa in 2019, and to commemorate their 40th anniversary they released their eighth album overall. Last November they also released a 7-inch vinyl, and even after turning sixty they continue to be energetically active. With a 12-piece lineup, enjoy their upbeat sound and humorous performances to the fullest.
