In 1981, she debuted as a stylish urban beauty singer with the single Misty Twilight, and the theme songs for the hugely popular dramas Stewardess Story and School Wars — What a Feeling – Flashdance and HERO — became big hits. Miki Asakura will appear at Billboard Live in the memorial year commemorating her 40th debut. Diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago, she made a miraculous comeback and has become even more positive and energetic, convinced that she can overcome anything. To celebrate her 40th debut, guest stars who contributed to the memorial album — Mayo Shono from Fly to Istanbul, Chikako Sawada (Sawada Chikako) for “Aitai,” and Akemi Ishii (only in Yokohama) for “CHA-CHA-CHA”— will join the stage and add sparkle.
