Philadelphia-born legendary hip-hop group THE ROOTS will bring their long-awaited Japan tour to commemorate Billboard Live’s 15th anniversary. Formed around MC Black Thought and drummer Questlove, they have, since their indie-released debut Organix in 1993, been committed to live performance, earning praise for their creative instrumental work, thoughtful and intelligent lyrics, and stunning live shows. They have absorbed a wide range of genres—from freestyle jazz to hard rock and electro—and have been nominated for Grammy Awards six times. In recent years they have also served as the house band on a popular American TV show, becoming a household name across the United States. Their premium tour, which continues to influence the scene, is a must-see for all music fans.
