An internationally active composer and pianist, Tenpei Nakamura makes his Billboard Live debut.

Having dropped out of high school, worked in the demolition industry, and then graduating at the top of his class from the Piano Department of Osaka University of Arts, he carries a remarkable background.

His powerful yet delicate technique and his originality-filled musicality have drawn attention, leading to his CD debut in 2008.

Since then, he has toured annually in the United States and Europe, and in addition to launching the disaster-relief project “Rising Sun” that brings pianos and music to disaster areas, he has undertaken an unprecedented concert tour by car visiting all 47 prefectures of Japan as well as more than 40 European countries. He has also been active in charity work supporting Ukraine, both domestically and internationally.

In 2021, he released the album Rising Soul, and he currently serves as a visiting professor at Osaka University of Arts, continuing to take on new challenges.

With blazing virtuosic technique delivering powerful performances, he also draws out extremely delicate and beautiful tones, presenting his latest stage in an intimate setting.
