Billboard JAPAN Women In Music vol.0 Supported by CASIO
eill
Overview
Billboard in the United States, which has hosted the event Billboard Women in Music since 2007, has decided to hold its first Japanese edition as a live show across three Billboard Live venues: Billboard Live Tokyo, Billboard Live Yokohama, and Billboard Live Osaka.
Each year, artists who have greatly contributed to the music industry and empowered women through their activities are honored as <Woman of the Year>; in 2022 Olivia Rodrigo was the recipient, following a line of distinguished winners including Beyoncé and Madonna.
In this domestic first edition, female artists whose continued activity beyond 2023 is anticipated will appear with different lineups at each venue, performing two shows on the same day.
At Billboard Live Tokyo, tri-lingual rapper/singer Chanmina—who has made a vivid impression as a representative figure in Japan’s female-rapper scene and who has released lookism-themed songs that have drawn attention as an opinion leader—will perform.
At Billboard Live Yokohama, eill, whose silky yet soulful voice delivers relatable messages and who has garnered strong support especially among women of her generation, will perform.
At Billboard Live Osaka, UA—one of Japan’s leading singers, a mother of four, and an artist pursuing alternative activities—will perform.
Notes:
