SAUDADE TO BRAZIL
Sadao Watanabe
Sadao Watanabe
Overview
In 2023, the 90-year-old legendary saxophonist Sadao Watanabe, who embodies a lifelong commitment to staying active as a musician, will once again focus on Brazilian music, which he has pursued for many years. He began his career as a jazz musician at 18, and when he developed an interest in Brazilian music, he went to Brazil alone, recording with local musicians, actively incorporating Brazilian music into his own music and introducing it to Japan. His achievements have been praised by the Brazilian government, and he is a recipient of Brazil's highest honor, the National Order of Rio Branco. Together with trusted fellow musicians, look forward to an exquisite performance that carries his love for Brazil.
