Billboard Live Yokohama presents a virtuoso ensemble led by guitarist Ulf Wakenius, the guitarist whom jazz piano giant Oscar Peterson praised as the greatest guitarist of modern times. Born in 1958 in Halmstad, Sweden, Wakenius is one of the most internationally active artists in today’s Swedish jazz scene. He has collaborated with many renowned jazz musicians, including Pat Metheny and Herbie Hancock, and to this day has built a brilliant discography that includes both his solo work and collaborations with others.

For this Japan tour, he will be joined by tenor saxophonist Björn Arko, bassist Hans Backenroth, and drummer Kalle Rasmussen, showcasing his overwhelming technique to the full. It will be a stage where you can experience up close Wakenius’s utterly earnest, almost godlike playing.
