A trio led by Lars Jansson, a jazz pianist and composer who represents contemporary Europe, will appear at Billboard Live Yokohama.

Lars Jansson was born in 1951 in Örebro, a city in central Sweden. In addition to receiving the Jan Johansson Music Prize, Sweden’s award for outstanding jazz musicians, he has also discovered many excellent singers and players as a producer. Since 1999, he has actively performed live across Japan, winning the hearts of many devoted fans. He has become one of the key figures behind the popularity of Nordic/Swedish jazz in Japan. Moreover, last year he received Sweden’s Music Academy Award and was honored by the King of Sweden for his substantial contributions to musical culture. On this Japan tour, he will take the stage with a rock-solid lineup featuring Thomas Fonnesbäck on bass and his own son Paul Svanberg on drums.
