Overview
The drummer John “JR” Robinson, beloved by countless musicians, makes his Billboard Live debut in a trio lineup alongside renowned players. Known as one of the most-recorded drummers in history, John has contributed to numerous works including Lionel Richie’s “We Are the World,” the late Michael Jackson’s “Off the Wall,” and Eric Clapton’s “Change the World,” among many others. In 1983, he won a Grammy for “Ain’t Nobody” with Rufus and Chaka Khan. Since 1979 he has served as drummer for Quincy Jones, and as recently as last year he performed on the Billboard Live stage as David Foster’s drummer. Such a stage, presented in a trio with masters Andrew Shinowick and Mitch Town, is sure to be a powerful, music-filled, special moment.
