Violinist and composer Ikuko Kawai, who continues to perform worldwide across genres, will debut a series of tango-centered performances at Billboard Live Yokohama. As a soloist, she has performed with major orchestras both domestically and internationally and has released numerous works with deeply intellectual themes. She has also served as the travelogue theme composer for NHK’s taiga drama Kirin ga Kuru, and in March of this year released the debut album of her self-founded Japanese-Western mixed orchestra, "Orchestra Hibiki," among other activities, illustrating the breadth of her work. This time, she is joined on stage by a lineup of accomplished performers including pianist Masaki Hayashi, bandoneonist Satoshi Kitamura, and contrabassist Pat Grin.
