Church of Sound is a music event that has attracted worldwide attention as a symbol of the UK music scene, hosted by the Total Refreshment Centre and held twice a month in a church in East London. The collaboration bringing such a prestigious event to Japan, Temple of Sound, with Billboard Live, has become a reality. From the UK, Soccer96—the foundational unit behind The Comet Is Coming, who are hailed as the “king” of the new generation of UK jazz and who performed at Fuji Rock Festival ’19. Ghost in the Tapes, who creatively uses samplers to explore the tradition’s inheritance while forging their own sound, will perform. From Japan, rising singer-songwriter and trackmaker Ermhoi, and Julia Shortreed, also active as Black Boboi, will participate; for the Yokohama show, saxophonist MELRAW will join, creating a stage for musical creativity across cultures.
