Overview
One of Japan's top guitarists, Kazumi Watanabe, who continues to explore the "possibilities of the guitar," will return to Billboard Live Yokohama this year as well. He debuted in 1971 with the leader album, "Infinite." His astonishing improvisational prowess and performances that shrug off even fast passages stunned Japanese jazz fans with the emergence of a 17-year-old guitar prodigy. Since then, as an icon of the jazz-fusion world, he has collaborated with numerous domestic and international musicians. In recent years, he has led projects such as the "Kazumi Watanabe Jazz Return Project," which gathered some of Japan's finest players, as well as focusing on acoustic-centered solo work, stage-music production and contributions to film music, and he has also devoted himself to nurturing the next generation as a university lecturer. This time, presenting a star-studded session with world-class musicians under the theme of "fusion," which could be seen as a return to his roots. Experience the Kazumi Sound, with rich expressiveness in every note, for an unforgettable night in Yokohama.
