Mie, who marks 43 years since her solo debut, has been presenting “Pink Lady Night” every year since 2010. The Pink Lady songs, arranged by Daisaku Kume, will be performed by a large ensemble centered on traditional Japanese instruments led by Kiyohiko Senba. This year’s New Year’s concert, now entering its 15th year, will deliver plenty of Pink Lady hits—colorfully and whimsically arranged. The group, which achieved great success with the summer 2023 show titled “Ura Pink Lady Night,” is sure to offer an even more fulfilling stage. The pulsations of percussion and the sound of bells are said to be highly effective at warding off evil spirits, making them ideal for New Year’s good fortune and misfortune-dispelling. And every year, be sure to notice the glamorous costumes designed by Yumi Katsura!
