A solo concert by Yoichi Kitayama, a member of Japan’s pioneering vocal group the Gospellers, has been announced to be held at Billboard Live.

The Gospellers were formed from Waseda University’s a cappella circle and made their major debut in 1994. They have released many representative songs, such as “Forever,” “Alone,” “Stardust Town,” and “Mimosa.”

This marks Kitayama’s first Billboard Live appearance under his solo name in ten years since the Osaka performance in 2014, and it will be his first appearance in Tokyo and Yokohama.

Joining him on stage this time is Toshitaka Shibata (pf), who has served as the bandmaster for Kitayama’s solo projects and has collaborated with numerous jazz artists; he is also active in session performances, hall tours, and recording projects.
