"The Queen of Original Shibuya-kei," Maki Nomiya, to Launch a Three-City Billboard Live Tour!
At the September 2023 show, she delivered a brilliant performance of [Maki Nomiya Sings Shibuya-kei Kayōkyoku.], an innovative update of kayōkyoku songs that has become a boom both domestically and internationally, and she is eagerly anticipated for a sequel to the music project "Maki Nomiya Sings Shibuya-kei," a series that carries on the classics and roots of Shibuya-kei.

On Valentine's Day, February 14, 2024, she will light up the stage with an eclectic lineup of guest artists, presenting "Shibuya-kei of the Reiwa era."

February 14, 2024, the first day of the Anniversary Live, will be a one-day Valentine’s Day concert featuring the legendary band The Scooters as a guest. The Scooters debuted in 1982 with the catchphrase "Tokyo Motown Sound" in "Musuko Kokoro wa Scooters" (Daughter’s Heart Is Scooters), and after only two years disbanded, but reformed in 2012. They influenced Yasuharu Konishi, and Kyoko Koizumi has covered "Tokyo Disco Night," making them a legendary band supported by many musicians.
Moreover, Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius), who has worked with Shindō on numerous album artworks and who produced Pizzicato Five’s Bossa Nova 2001 (1993) and has collaborated with Nomiya, will appear as a special guest. The band will also feature Hirohisa Horie, a member of Cornelius’s Neil & Iraiza, and guitarist Seiichi Nagai, known for his work with TESTSET and QUBIT, forming a superb lineup that will join Maki on stage.

One year has passed since the passing of Mitsuo Shindō, the Japanese art director who supported the Shibuya-kei movement and is a source of pride for Japan worldwide. Maki Nomiya and the participating musicians, who collaborated with Shindō on the artwork for Pizzicato Five and for all of Nomiya’s solo works, will deliver a special live show filled with boundless love for Shindō—don’t miss it.
