Japan's only vocalist and flugelhorn player TOKU will headline a spring Billboard Live performance. He made his SME debut in January 2000 with the album “Everythig She Said.” With a smooth, sweet tone and a wide musical range that transcends the boundaries of jazz, he has contributed as composer and performer to numerous artists’ works and has appeared on the Billboard Live stage many times. This year, the lineup comes together with pianist Masae Umino, whom TOKU has deepened his friendship with since meeting in high school on his move to New York; groove master Naoshi Numazawa, who has collaborated with world-class artists in America; and the bassist Hideki Matsubara, whom Numazawa places immense trust in.
